I'm fascinated by the frame, but the world outside of it prompts deeper contemplation. The images captured by the retina behind the lens reveal a truth that emerges from the revolution within the mind. The year 2012 brought forth the concept of blending clear and blurred images, akin to a side profile of wisdom, inspired by steps photographed in the Jiufen area in 2010. Thus, it is named "The Steps of Wisdom," representing an inward ascent of thought.

I ponder this side silhouette reminiscent of a practitioner, subtly calling me to reflect on what lies within—a complex web of thoughts behind the door. Calm contemplation allows the logic to unfold clearly and sequentially, cleansing my muddled mind and washing away my obsessions. "Perhaps like the traces left in 'The Travels of Lao Can,' where one can only sigh after the shutter is pressed, realizing the moment has become a memory." Indeed, photography can transform our memories, turning what we have traversed into a landscape of the soul. Andreas Gursky states, "The least means express a wealth of connotations." I question myself: Is pressing the shutter truly a reflection of my perception? Does the moment captured by the camera rather mark the beginning of a question, leading into my image melting pot? Therefore, the journey of memory's representation and recreating images is a trajectory for you and me to explore.
