"Scenic Beauty of Sacred Mountain" by Huang Gechuan transcends the boundaries of Eastern and Western materials and aesthetics, interpreting the spirit of ink wash painting through oil colors and forging a unique modern vocabulary for landscape painting. The foreground is depicted with robust and powerful brushstrokes that capture the grandeur and sheer steepness of the mountains and rocks, while the background layers colors of varying densities to portray the distant view of overlapping peaks.
