Huang Suling's "Mandarin Ducks at Play" masterfully employs natural lacquer and gold-silver powders, bringing Eastern auspicious imagery to life through traditional techniques. The mandarin ducks symbolize harmony and happiness, frolicking among lotus leaves, surrounded by a rich background of flowers and foliage, all rendered in soft and intricate colors. The piece skillfully utilizes engraving and gilding, giving each stroke a tactile depth and luster that enhances its visual layers. This work not only showcases Huang's exquisite command of lacquer craftsmanship but also reflects her unique creativity, blending tradition with contemporary flair seamlessly.
