Introduction
Description of the "Dual Life Flower Series"

The "Dual Life Flower Series" centers on three traditional Chinese medicinal plants: peony, magnolia, and saffron. Through the growth, blooming, and withering of flowers, it contemplates the essence of life and humanity's quest for the unknown within the constraints of our limited existence.

The flowers depicted in the artwork symbolize the core of life, originally complete in form but repeatedly traversed, cut, and obscured by horizontal lines. This reflects how memories, experiences, emotions, and external environments influence our perception of the "self," causing us to view life through various layers of consciousness, making it difficult to truly reach the initial state of existence.

The work uses vermillion red to symbolize bloodlines and the continuity of life. This red serves as an invisible thread of life flowing from the past to the present and extending into the yet-to-be-reached future. In contrast to the vividness of red, the white in the picture represents the unknown and the "void," embodying human inquiries and imaginings about past lives and future destinies—where do we come from, and where are we going?

The piece does not seek to provide exact answers about life, but rather presents the ongoing state of exploration between the "known" and the "unknown" through the interplay of flowers, horizontal lines, red, and white.

What we see as life may merely be a fragment of existence; beyond the visible present, vast expanses of the unknown remain, waiting for consciousness to gaze upon them.
