Introduction
A simple and humorous language of life. Swallows fly in flocks over the mountains and fields; though small in size, they can ride the winds far and wide. Leaving the eaves and flying towards the distance, they ultimately follow their memories back to familiar lands. This is not only a natural phenomenon but also a microcosm of generations of Taiwanese lives.
The artwork is carved with rugged knife marks depicting swallows and mountains, paired with phrases resembling folk proverbs. There is no embellishment from literati, but rather a straightforwardness and wisdom unique to folk language.
Able to fly high, yet they do not forget their smallness; able to leave home, yet they do not forget their roots. This 'earthly nature' is a character deeply rooted in the land—pragmatic, resilient, and aware of one’s limits, all while carrying a sense of humor in the face of life. No matter how far swallows fly, their hometown remains the coordinate for recognizing the direction of life.
