Introduction
Chiu Chung-Chun uses plants and natural objects as representations, yet what he explores is the inherent "nature" of things. Plants grow according to their own life structure, unembellished and unaccommodating, just as the land nurtures all things, each with its true form. The phrase "know the true nature" points to seeing beyond external forms to recognize the original and authentic existence of things.

As a printmaker, the carving on wood does not merely shape the woodblock; it embodies an understanding of life, land, and materiality. The rugged carving marks, direct text, and natural forms intertwine, inscribing an unrefined life force. The art of painting lies not only in the hand but also in the truth of art, which depends on whether the creator truly sees. Thus, the work returns to the land and to its true nature, revealing the unique reality and vitality of Taiwan within its simplicity.
