Introduction
The artwork features a foreground of broken and intertwined ruins, employing layers of aluminum foil that are repeatedly applied, polished, and piled to create a mottled, fragmented surface marked by traces of time. The metallic material reflects different shades of light depending on the angle of view, making the ruins not only concrete remnants but also akin to human thoughts and memories, continuously accumulating, overlapping, and changing over time.

The ruins depicted symbolize the layers of "otherness" that accumulate throughout life—the external voices, established experiences, obsessions, emotions, and value judgments—that gradually form obscuring layers, causing us to habitually see the world through these established perceptions, making it difficult to perceive the originally clear consciousness within.

Beyond the gaps in the ruins, a red mountain landscape, marked with vermilion, exists vividly. It symbolizes the inner, real, and pure landscape of consciousness: even when obscured by layers, it has never truly disappeared.

Through the contrast of ruins and mountain scenery, mottled and pure, obscurity and manifestation, the artwork suggests an alternative way of viewing the inner self—what we believe we are searching for is often not about adding more but gradually seeing and letting go of those obscurities.

As the otherness retreats like ruins layer by layer, we discover that the real and beautiful landscape has never truly left.
