Introduction
The work presents a foreground of broken and intertwined ruins, using aluminum foil layered, eroded, and stacked to create a mottled, fragmented surface marked by the passage of time. The metallic material shifts in light and viewpoint, resulting in varying shades of darkness and brightness, transforming the ruins from mere remnants of structures into reflections of human thoughts and memories, which continuously accumulate, overlap, and change over time.

The ruins in the image symbolize layers of "otherness" accumulated throughout the journey of life—external voices, established experiences, obsessions, emotions, and value judgments—gradually forming obstructions that condition our perception of the world through these established beliefs, making it difficult to see the originally clear consciousness within.

Beyond the gaps in the ruins, a red landscape painted with cinnabar vividly exists. It symbolizes an inner, real, and pure landscape of consciousness: even though it is layered with obstructions, it has never truly disappeared.

Through the contrast of ruins and mountain scenery, mottled and pure, obscured and revealed, the work suggests an alternative way to view the inner self—what we think we are searching for as truth may not be about adding more, but rather about gradually seeing and letting go of those obscurities.

When the layers of otherness recede like ruins, we discover that the authentic and beautiful landscape has never truly left.
