Introduction
"The Morning Fog" focuses on the rooster comb flower amidst the fog that has yet to dissipate in the early morning. The bright red flowers weave through the hazy mist, appearing and vanishing, reminiscent of a person in a chaotic world, trying to find their most authentic self.
The red flowers in the scene symbolize a person's "true nature," an essence that does not disappear due to external circumstances; the layers of swirling fog symbolize the various "alien perceptions" that constantly arise in life—stemming from experiences, emotions, desires, and the sounds of the outside world. These perceptions obscure our vision like fog, making it sometimes difficult to see things as they truly are, and gradually blurring our understanding of our own nature.
However, fog does not last forever. As dawn breaks, the mist will eventually move and dissipate, and the flowers once obscured will gradually become clear. The work contemplates the relationship between flowers and fog, clarity and obscurity, emergence and concealment, pondering how individuals navigate through tumultuous consciousness to re-examine their inner selves.
When the fog clears, the reality does not reappear; rather, we finally see—it has always been there.
