POST WINGS

The artwork intertwines vivid colors, metallic textures, and traditional floral patterns, attempting to connect land memory, natural life, and contemporary visual experience. Light and flowers are symbols of nature, as well as metaphors for the continuity of life and culture; seemingly separate individuals traverse and coexist on the same land, much like different thoughts and consciousness influencing each other over time, gradually shaping the unique life form of the island.

However, the "island" I observe is not merely the land and landscape before me. Each person views the world through their own memories, experiences, and perceptions, and these different perspectives generate distinct "otherness." We think we see the same island, yet in reality, each individual's heart reflects a different Taiwan.

The flowing, dividing, and traversing forms in the picture are akin to consciousness shifting continuously between reality and memory. Some are concealed, some are revealed; some represent what we believe to be true, while others lie beneath layers of consciousness, still existing yet unseen in their true essence. Thus, light does not merely illuminate the outer landscape, but resembles a form of inward observation—piercing through the chaotic thoughts and experiences to rediscover our most authentic connections with the land.

The island is both a piece of land and a spiritual landscape constructed by countless consciousnesses. Differences do not necessarily lead to separation, but instead gradually form a shared cultural memory through repeated observation, collision, and understanding. My creation explores how Taiwan merges within diversity, coexists amid plurality, and considers how people can navigate through the complexities of consciousness to see themselves, see others, and re-examine this island.
