"Shattered Heart" is not about sorrow, but rather a state left behind after experiences. It is not a one-time shattering, but rather a heart that, after years of accumulation and repeated cracks, continues to live on. The term "shattered heart elder" does not refer to someone defeated by emotions, but rather to someone who has seen through the repetitions of human affairs, the wear and tear of relationships, and the erosion of ideals, yet chooses not to escape from the world. The heart is already incomplete, but as a result, it has also lost attachment and fantasy.

From Zhao Erdai's perspective on life, true aging is not measured by years, but by whether one still holds unrealistic expectations towards the world. A heart that has been shattered can instead observe people, events, and oneself calmly, no longer in a hurry to mend or to prove anything. This imprint is not self-mockery, nor is it an accusation, but rather an honest self-positioning— the heart is shattered, but the person remains.
