The artwork depicts a rainy city street scene during dusk or dawn, where vehicles and pedestrians rush by on the damp asphalt, while the entire world is enveloped in humid air and vibrant lights. Golden, pink, and blue-purple shimmering spots intertwine on the wet ground, resembling the emotional traces of the city whispering in the rain.

McDermott employs the characteristics of pastel painting to dissolve light and shadow into a realm where abstraction and reality intertwine, as if time pauses at this moment, allowing the viewer to gaze upon the poetry often unnoticed in everyday life. Through reflections and color layering, he expresses the warmth, humanity, and unspoken connections within the city.
