This set of teapot and teacups is a specially commissioned work by Master Lan Yue, characterized by its round and plump teapot shape. The theme is centered around the round and full-bodied peony flower. The peony, known as the king of flowers, is greatly admired in artistic creations; however, if not used properly, it can easily come across as gaudy. Therefore, Master Lan Yue adjusted the colors during the painting process, combining low-saturation glazes to create a bright contrast between the peony and its tender leaves. The appropriately added coffee red corresponds with the rose on the other side, resulting in an overall color palette that is soft and exudes a retro elegance and refined charm.
