Lava erupts from the earth's core, slowly flowing over mountains and rivers; this is not a scene of destruction, but rather nature revealing its true form at the limits of its being. I see it as an image of an inner state. Sometimes, a person's outburst is not gentle, but fierce, an expulsion shaped by repression and explosion. The fiery red lava resembles emotions that have accumulated over the years, finally finding a way to surge forth.
