The piece is shaped from raw coarse clay, with the bird form suggested only by geometric lines and natural textures, as if life has emerged from the layers of rock. The surface is marked by fire scars and mineral textures, showcasing a beauty born of nature. This work reflects Zhao Erdai's understanding of the "initial state of life"—where form is indeterminate but spirit is already present. It embodies a natural philosophy that returns to the origins, symbolizing freedom and rebirth, and is an important representation of his "Dai-style philosophy" in sculptural settings.
