Introduction
This work constructs a sense of the flow of life through the free movement of ink lines and the use of negative space. The gourd is merely shaped by light green hues, while the vines roam across the paper with the dynamic strokes of semi-cursive calligraphy, showcasing a high degree of fusion between calligraphy and painting, akin to the concepts of "feibai" and "shoushi" in calligraphy. Zhao Erdai utilizes the forms of nature to express his inner being, and the vines in his brushwork seem to grow without restraint, symbolizing the freedom and self-sufficiency of life. This also resonates with his philosophical thinking of "being foolish yet spirited" — finding complexity within simplicity, and motion within stillness.
