Born in Chongqing in 1946. His father, Huang Muhan, was a famous historical figure from Chongqing. He graduated from East China Textile Institute in Shanghai in 1969 and studied painting under Mr. Huang Zhou in the 1970s. His works have been selected six times for contemporary art exhibitions organized by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and have won awards three times; he has received certificates of appreciation twice from the Hong Kong Home Affairs Bureau; and in 2024, he won the Hong Kong Artist Year Award. His works are collected by institutions such as the National Art Museum of China, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Durham University in the UK. Among them, “Clouds Over the Three Gorges” is included in the large anthology “20th Century Chinese Art” edited by the National Art Museum of China.
