Artist Profile of MIYOKO OKUMA: Born in Fukuoka in 1950 Graduated from Fukuoka University of Education in 1973 Retired as principal of an elementary school in Fukuoka City in 2011 Studied under Chinese ink painter Yao Ming in 2014 Exhibited in the International Calligraphy and Painting Grand Prize Exhibition in 2016, 2017, and 2019 (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and others), awarded the International Calligraphy Exchange Prize Participated in the 21st Century Calligraphy and Painting Artist International Exchange Exhibition in Seoul in 2018, receiving the Chairman's Award from the Korean Art Association Exhibited in the Biodiversity Art Grand Prize Exhibition in 2021 (Kunming Museum, China), awarded Silver Prize Exhibited in the Japan-China International Calligraphy Exhibition in 2022 (Guangzhou Yuan Art Museum), awarded Silver Prize Since 2018, exhibited in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th International Calligraphy Exhibitions (Fukuoka City Museum, Kurume Art Museum, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, etc.), receiving awards such as the Fukuoka Prefectural Governor's Prize and the Kunisaki City Mayor's Prize.
