This is a painting created after the birth of my eldest son in 1978. During the day, I taught at school, and after work, I often used this traditional Taiwanese cloth to carry my son while helping with the family business. One day, I saw myself in the mirror with my child on my back, and I was about to breastfeed him. The background featured a scale and a bamboo basket for selling vegetables, which I found very interesting. After returning home, I used watercolors to create this piece, expressing the hardworking, simple, and resilient character of Taiwanese women.
