In my childhood, I remember planting a century-old longan tree in the backyard of Zhongzhi Village in Wulai. During August, the longan fruits were thick and sweet, creating unforgettable moments of joy as we enjoyed them in our mouths. After living in the United States for 45 years and longing for Taiwanese fruits, I finally fulfilled my wish in 2019 when I returned to Taiwan.
