I outlined orchids using the technique of line drawing on pineapple xuan paper, and then applied a large amount of water and ink to create diffuse effects on the paper, resulting in a strong contrast. This serves as a metaphor for the resilience and beauty of people surviving in an environment of freedom and constraints. Roses symbolize many layers of emotions, values, and cultural beliefs. One important belief they represent is hope and rebirth, suggesting that one will eventually emerge from the darkness.
