Born in Nansha, Guangdong and raised in Singapore in 1958, he is a calligrapher and painter. He studied at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and also taught at Nanyang College of the Arts. He learned ink painting under Master Lai Ruilong and calligraphy and ink painting from Master Xu Mengfeng. In 1998, he was included in the "Dictionary of Famous Calligraphers and Painters in Ancient and Modern China" published by Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House. Over the years, he has been invited to participate in various publications. He engages in teaching and creating calligraphy and painting, and enjoys the pleasure of composing poetry in his spare time. He is an advisor of the Mo Lan Society (previously its president), vice president of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Alumni Association, a member of the Singapore Art Society, a member of the Nanyang Arts Friendship Association, a member of the Singapore Calligraphy and Seal Carving Society, an honorary director of the Singapore Calligraphy and Seal Carving Society, a member of the Chinese Painting Research Association, a member of the Huahan Research Association, a member of the Yilin Arts Association, a member of the Singapore Calligraphers Association, an honorary director of the Singapore Calligraphers Association, a member of the Singapore Arts Federation, a member of the Singapore Fine Arts Association, an honorary advisor of the World Cultural and Artistic Federation, a member of the Singapore International Cultural and Arts Federation, and a calligraphy judge. His works have been exhibited both domestically and internationally, receiving attention from collectors worldwide.
